Although a classically trained musician and graduate of Yale School of Music, Michael discovered jazz was how he expresses his musical voice. Music samples and event updates are at asettamusic.com.

Mike served in the United States Air Force Band, was stationed in Germany, and toured with the Air Force Jazz Ambassadors. Asetta also covered the North American continent with The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. He has performed with numerous jazz greats including: Pepper Adams, Bob Mintzer, Brad Mehldau, Joel Frahm, Mimi Fox, and Christian Sands.

Now residing in Connecticut he leads jazz groups at concerts, private events, and clubs throughout Southern New England and the New York area, showcasing the Great American Songbook along with the best of today’s popular songs interpreted in jazz.

On the select list of performers at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos, Mike has performed with the following:

Rock/Pop artists: Earth Wind & Fire, Peter Frampton, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra, Dinah Shore, Kansas, Lou Rawls, Peter Cetera, Zack Starkey.

Show Bands/Orchestras: Josh Groban, Irish Tenors, Martin Short, Regis Philbin, Ben E. King, the late Don Rickles, and Marilyn King.
