A classically trained musician and graduate of Yale School of Music, international touring began early in Mike Asetta’s music career, ranging around the globe from Carnegie Hall to the Seoul Arts Center in Korea. Hearing jazz growing up, Michael found his voice in that music. Now residing in Connecticut he leads jazz groups at concerts, private events, and clubs throughout Southern New England and the New York area, showcasing the Great American Songbook along with the best of today’s popular songs interpreted in jazz.

In addition to maintaining a full performance schedule, Mike repairs and restores string instruments in his central Connecticut workshop specializing in acoustic basses. An extraordinary selection of fine string instruments and bows are available for sale, ranging from student and orchestra levels to rare restored basses and cellos. On recent travels to the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, France, and Italy, Mike returned with a number of extraordinary double basses hand-crafted by world renowned master makers.
